Psalms 130

Awaiting Redemption

1A
song of ascents: Probably the songs pilgrims sang as they traveled the roads going up to worship in Jerusalem; Pss 120-134
song of ascents.

Out of the depths I call to You,
Yahweh/Yah: Or The Lord; the personal name of God in Hebrew; "Yah" is the shortened form of the name.
Yahweh! c
2 Lord, listen to my voice;
let Your ears be attentive
to my cry for help. d

3 Yahweh, if You considered sins,
Lord, who could stand? e
4 But with You there is forgiveness,
so that You may be revered. f

5 I wait for Yahweh; I wait
and put my hope in His word. g
6 I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning
more than watchmen for the morning. h

7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord. i
For there is faithful love with the Lord,
and with Him is redemption in abundance. j
8 And He will redeem Israel
from all its sins. k
